There is a growing need for information on the fly that is always up to date and adaptable.  Here at CATIM we have developed information systems that are practical to use as well as cybersecurity aware.

One such techniques that we employ is to create documentation usually as a PDF that is stored on a cloud and pointed to by a link pre-programmed on a NFC Tag.

The NFC Tag can then be stuck on any piece of equipment.  The user simply scans the tag with a mobile while the documentation developer continually updates content.

NFC is a technology that has been used successfully for mobile phone payments.  Many features lend NFC tags to practical information dissemination in the field.

Ideal Use Cases…

  • Industrial applications /Access control
  • Product manuals / Reference sheets
  • Fault finding flow diagrams / Process diagrams
  • Standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • Using PDF’s or other web friendly file types
  • Business card
  • Electronic product labelling / Product authentication
  • Secure authentication and configuration
  • Anti-counterfeiting
  • Any general information distribution

How to create a product manual example…

  • Use any authoring app to create a document (our Genie will create PDFs from a PowerPoint deck)
  • Load the PDF on any cloud (we prefer using Microsoft365 SharePoint as we know it well)
  • Program the shareable weblink of the PDF onto the tag with a mobile free app
  • Any user can then tap the tag with their mobile that requires no app to be installed
  • The consumer then views the PDF on their phone
  • The document author can update the PDF at any time and the consumer just taps the tag again to view the updated version.   The tag needs no changes after the initial link programming.

A starter kit is available from the <View product> web shop links below.
